Hello, Calla here
blogging from the comforts of my bed as I am stuck with the flu. Today I wanted to write a post about a movie that I just saw this weekend, Here Comes The Boom.
In the comedy Here Comes the Boom, former collegiate wrestler Scott Voss (Kevin James) is a 42-year-old apathetic biology teacher in a failing high school. When cutbacks threaten to cancel the music program and lay off its teacher (Henry Winkler,) Scott begins to raise money by moonlighting as a mixed martial arts fighter. Everyone thinks Scott is crazy – most of all the school nurse, Bella (Salma Hayek) – but in his quest, Scott gains something he never expected as he becomes a sensation that rallies the entire school.
My rating: 5/5
My comments: I really enjoyed this movie, it had good , witty and enjoyable humour and a really touching story. This is a feel-good story about ebing inspired to follow your passions. I really loved the aspect of how the teacher was so passionate about his profession. It brought me to tears at the end of the movie, becuase it is the type of teacher I want to be, someone who goes beyond just being a teacher. So this movie was very inspiring. Kevin James is a phenomenal actor and really embodies the sweetness of his character, as well as his humour.
Watch the trailor and contemplate seeing this movie: it’s really good and has amazing values.
